February has been a busy, but delightful month. We started off with a visit from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to kick off I Love to Read month. Other guest readers in our classroom have been the Winkler Flyers, grandparents, parents, and even students! Another exciting day this month was Winter Fun Day. Despite an unusually warm month, this day was a bit chilly, however, we braved the cold and spent the afternoon playing games and activities outside. Finally, we were very lucky to have a virtual visit from Marlene Gallagher. She is a residential school survivor, who shared some of her story, as well as highlighted her indigenous culture. This visit brought to life some of the things we’ve been learning about through stories we’ve read. What a great month. Let’s keep it going in March.
