In Grade 2 we have been learning about the different places in our community and how they benefit Winkler. We discussed the difference between needs and wants and students gave their opinions on which places are the most important in a community. As part of our study, students created a model city out of cardboard boxes. Together we made a list of places that we would need in a community and each student chose one to construct. Once they were completed, we organized it and made roads. Next students will be exploring maps as well as creating ones of their own. We can’t wait for you to see it!
